Quando compi gli anni e vuoi farlo col botto. Immagino sia questo che hanno pensato a Riot Games in occasione del decimo anniversario di League of Legends (LoL per i fan), vista la pletora di annunci che hanno arricchito i festeggiamenti.
Uno di questi, per ora conosciuto solamente come “Project L“, è un picchiaduro ambientato a Runeterra (il mondo di LoL), del quale erano stati rilasciati alcuni indizi un mesetto fa, in occasione dell’EVO, il più importante evento annuale a tema “fighting games”.
“[Parlare di Project L all’EVO] è stata un’esperienza folle e surreale – sono le parole di Tom Cannon, CEO di Radiant Entertainment, il team dietro il progetto – perché è un po’ che ci stavamo lavorando e per tutto il tempo abbiamo dovuto essere molto riservati. Penso che i giocatori di League of Legends si aspettino qualcosa di diverso da questo gioco, ma allo stesso tempo in armonia con quello che immagino i fan dei picchiaduro si aspettino”.
“Tutti vogliono un grande titolo – continua Cannon – ma da quello che ho visto le persone sono veramente entusiaste di vedere di vedere di Campioni di Runeterra sotto una nuova luce e addirittura da una nuova angolazione. Fare picchiaduro è veramente complicato. Sono giochi complessi da realizzare e anche se siamo convinti di essere a buon punto per la realizzazione di qualcosa di eccezionale, abbiamo ancora una lunga strada da fare.
“Da ora scompariremo per un po’, quindi non aspettatevi qualche novità presto, ma sappiate che stiamo lavorando duramente per voi” conclude Cannon.
