La mappa del gioco sarà più piccola di quella di The Witcher 3, ma più densa di compiti per i giocatori.
Senza girarci troppo intorno: la mappa di Cyberpunk 2077 sarà enorme. Anche dopo averla esplorata per un migliaio di ore, i giocatori potrebbero ancora avere una modesta lista di cose da fare. Proprio per questo non dovrebbe esserci ragione di preoccuparsi per il fatto che sia più piccola – perché, a detta di uno sviluppatore, è più densa.
Durante un’intervista rilasciata a GamesRadar, Richard Borzymowski, produttore di Cyberpunk 2077, parla dell’approccio dello studio allo sviluppo della mappa.
Se teniamo in considerazione la superficie in termini di kilometri quadri, allora la mappa potrebbe anche essere un po’ più piccola di quella di The Witcher 3 – ma ciò che li differenzia è la densità: immaginate il contenuto di The Witchercompresso in una mappa più piccola, senza la natura selvaggia nel mezzo.Naturalmente […] quello di The Witcher era un open world con stradine e foreste a contornare città grandi e piccole come Novigrad, ma in Cyberpunk siamo dentro Night City. È parte integrante dell’ambientazione, quasi un protagonista se è così che vogliamo chiamarlo. Quindi è naturale che sia più densa. Per ottenere ciò che avevamo in mente la città doveva essere verosimile, e non lo sarebbe stata pensandola diversamente […], quindi l’abbiamo riempita di vita.
Come dargli torto. In The Witcher3, a fronte di una mappa più grande, molte aree erano contorni di foresta o collina tra città o aree obiettivo; in Cyberpunk, invece, ci si muove in una città intera piena di vita, e sarebbe strano non trovare persone o cose da fare dietro ogni angolo. La mappa, inoltre, può svilupparsi anche verticalmente, visto che comprende enormi palazzoni.
Cyberpunk 2077 è in arrivo il prossimo 16 aprile per PC, PS4, XBox One e Google Stadia.
