Funomena e Annapurna Interactive hanno ri-svelato Wattam, il nuovo gioco di Keita Takahashi, creatore di Katamari Damacy.
Come precedentemente annunciato, Wattam non sarà più una esclusiva PlayStation 4 pubblicata da Sony Interactive Entertainment, ma arriverà anche su PC ed altre console. Inoltre sarà rilasciato nel 2018.
Nello stravagante e selvaggio colorato mondo di Wattam potrete “legare con oltre 100 unici e spensierati personaggi”. Il sindaco, in Wattam, adora creare esplosioni colorate – più saranno piene di gioia, più personaggi arriveranno e giocheranno con voi.
Le connessioni che formate aprono uno scrigno di possibilità – giocare, scambiare, accatastare, scalare, inseguire, fluttuare, esplodere e/o ballare, tutto in nome del divertimento.
Ogni personaggio avrà una melodia dedicata, e collegando i personaggi assieme potrete fare degli stravaganti mashup. Ogni cittadino di Wattam ha diverse origini e poi lavorano insieme per risolvere diversi puzzle, celebrare eventi speciali ed “esplorare i limiti della fantasia”.
Katamori Damacy, il precedente di Keita Takahashi, era un action puzzle in terza persona sviluppato e pubblicato da Namco per PlayStation 2 nel 2004. Il gioco ha richiesto meno di 1 milione di dollari, il risultato di un progetto scolastico dal Namco Digital Hollywood Game Laboratory.
Nel 2012 è stato aggiunto tra i primi 14 giochi ad essere esposti al New York Musuem of Modern Art.
